Job Description

Job Title: Development Coordinator

Industry: Non-Profit / Fundraising

Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Assignment Type: Contract-to-Hire (commitment through end of year, with potential for permanent hire)

Pay: $21–$23/hour

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Job Description:

The Development Coordinator will play a key role in supporting fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This individual will assist in donor research, data organization, event coordination, and administrative functions to help the team meet fundraising goals and strengthen donor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preliminary research to identify and organize prospective donors.
  • Assist with donor cultivation and stewardship activities, including events and outreach campaigns.
  • Draft and edit donor communications, including emails, acknowledgments, and event follow-up.
  • Support the processing of gifts and related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records within the donor database (CRM).
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the development team.

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or customer service.
  • Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems (any platform such as Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or DonorPerfect).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Passion for supporting nonprofit missions and a willingness to pitch in on tasks big and small.

Additional Details:

  • Assignment is set to begin in late September.

  • Holiday season is the busiest giving period — candidates must be available to work during that time (except noted holidays).
