Job Description – Healthcare Focused Project Manager
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management strongly preferred.
5+ years of practical experience in a project administration preferred.
Healthcare construction experience required, preferably in California with HCAI knowledge.
Experience in construction management preferred.
Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building.
Duties and Responsibilities
Act as an Owners Representative with direct client facing responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.
Manage the design process with the client and designers.
Responsible for onsite quality assurance of contractor work
Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of the contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities.
Collaborate with IOR and HCAI field officials.
Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client.
Conduct project meetings and provide documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information.
Ensure contractor, architect, and engineer, adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment.
Provide management of project logistics, organization, safety, and work force utilization
Experience working in the occupied space of an active hospital and directly with its end users (Physicians, Staff and Facilities) is preferred.
Advanced knowledge and application of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required.
Knowledge of design requirements, architecturally significant medical equipment, and industry practices specific to the Healthcare (HCAI) sector in California is required.
Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite of tools is required, and knowledge of scheduling database tools such as Primavera (P6) or Procore is preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and blueprints is required.
Strong collaboration, conflict resolution and team building skills are required and essential.
Ensure project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for final project delivery to the owner.
Perform other duties as required to ensure project success.

Ability to regularly communicate with client and team to achieve project goals.
Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts.
Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed.
Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with clients.
Ability to successfully communicate with architects, contractors, client’s representatives, and team members.
Ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to Budgeting, Scheduling, Submittals, Change orders.
Demonstrated high level of performance in project budgeting, contract negotiations and scheduling.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook) applications and Project software.
