**Job Summary:**
The Prep Cook will assist the kitchen staff in preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring that meals are prepared efficiently and to the highest standards. This role is essential in supporting our chefs and cooks in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- **Ingredient Preparation:** Wash, chop, slice, and dice vegetables; prepare sauces, marinades, and dressings; and portion proteins as directed by the chef.
- **Kitchen Organization:** Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper storage of food items and supplies.
- **Equipment Handling:** Safely operate kitchen equipment such as knives, food processors, and mixers, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- **Inventory Management:** Assist in the receiving and storage of food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of inventory and minimizing food waste.
- **Support Cooking Staff:** Assist cooks and chefs in food preparation during service, including expediting and plating dishes as needed.
- **Sanitation Compliance:** Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
- **Team Collaboration:** Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.

**Qualifications:**

- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.
- Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
