Learn more about us at Senior Property Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate financial reporting of assigned properties. Responsibilities include month-end close for assigned properties reconciliation of accounts on a monthly basis and assisting property management and accounting department with financial projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Accurately record income expenses and changes in assets and liabilities on a monthly basis.

• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and applicable income statement accounts to ensure accuracy.

• Assist Property Managers Area Vice Presidents and Group Vice Presidents with variance reports included in monthly reporting package.

• Assist Property Managers Area Vice Presidents and Group Vice Presidents with understanding overall financial performance.

• Prepare monthly bank statement reconciliations and promptly record any reconciling items.

• Process debt service tax insurance and capital expense payments and ensure/verify payments are made as required

• Responsible for daily cash management.

• Reconcile security deposit liability and assets accounts on a monthly basis.

• Maintains and organizes monthly property files with appropriate support documentation.

• Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned.

• Review accounting work performed by more junior team members and help to train more junior team members

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

• Must be proficient in MS Word Excel Powerpoint Outlook Yardi Entrata and the internet.

• Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients and customers.

• Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions and percentages.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in accounting is required

• Minimum of three years of property accounting experience
