Summary The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for inspecting and analyzing malfunctions, completing repairs and efficiently rebuilding trailers. Job Duties Responsible for daily inspection of trailers to ensure equipment meets all safety standards. Dismantle, repair and reassemble landing gears, wheel axles and brakes, and weld any broken parts. Ensures electrical system is running efficiently. Accurately documents equipment files and completes work orders in a timely and consistent manner. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Uses safety equipment including hearing protection, safety toe boots, safety glasses, hard hat and welding leathers & goggles. Minimum Qualifications Valid Driver's License Advanced knowledge of industry from a vocational education institute, apprenticeship, on-the-job training or similar work experience. Good problem solving skills. Work Environment Required job duties are performed indoors but sometimes may require some duties outdoors. May need to travel throughout the yard by walking or driving. Physically demanding position due to the nature of the environment. Must be able to see and hear fast moving equipment.
